Facebook’s Valentine’s Day Announcements are a simple yet ingenious method of extending a website’s advertiser base to include the site’s regular users. The whole idea is really brilliant; though I’m not sure just how much success they had with it. It was priced just right for the college student at $5 an announcement. I tried to buy one, but unfortunately, you can only send them to people on your friends list. And the person I wanted to wish wasn’t on my friends list as yet!

Like an adamant little kid hell-bent on getting that new toy in the store display, for some reason, I just had to have the domain name fahd.com (Fahd is my first name). The US $8,000 price tag quoted by the owner of fahd.com at the time, put a quick stop to that desire. The .net alternative was similarly priced. The next preferred option being fahd.org is what I finally gave in to and acquired at an outrageously priced bargain. Outrageous, because I had no plans for the domain at the time (it is two years later that I am setting up this blog). And bargain, because I got it for a lot cheaper than it should have been. There you have it; that’s how fahd.org came about!
Why the tagline experience matters? I’ve learnt more from experience than all other learning avenues combined. Pure experience is sometimes a harsh method of learning, but experience is definitely the best teacher I have come across.
