Addendum: GameSiteScript has been taken over by Chad Philips and he is doing a better job than ever! If you’re thinking of running a game/video site, don’t even waste your time considering other scripts. Just get GSS, trust me you wont even wonder, ‘what if I had bought another script’. Chad is also the most helpful guy ever! He has gone beyond the call of duty to help me with issues and custom modifications. He deserves more credit than I express, especially considering that he has NOT received ANY payment from me whatsoever (since I bought all my GSS licenses before Chad took over).

I’ve used all the four major arcade scripts - GameSiteScript, GameScript, phpArcadeScript, and ShockScript; and I have to say GameSiteScript is hands down the best one in every way!
I am running GameSiteScript on FadPlay.com
And up until the time of this post I have been running…
GameScript on FOGDB
ShockScript on FadGames.net
phpArcadeScript on FadArcade.com
I may eventually switch these three sites to GameSiteScript as well!

Update: Since a few people have contacted me asking for more substantitive feedback on why I find GSS to be the best, here goes….
Primary Disadvantages of ShockScript:
Supports only Flash (SWF) files!
No support for Shockwave or externally hosted files.
Script is Encoded!
The script is encoded and customization and flexibility is severely limited.
Live License Verification!
SS employs on-the-fly verification of your SS license. That is, everytime someone visits your shockscript powered website, a connection is attempted to contact shockscript.com to verify your license. Nothing wrong with this in theory! In practice, if shockscripts website is unreachable for whatever reason, your entire website slows to a painful crawl and you will also be locked out of the admin area of YOUR website. Anyone serious about the availability of his or her website will stay away from SS due to this reason alone!

I’ve completely ditched phpArcadeScript and FadArcade.com now simply redirects to FadPlay.com
I’ve left FadGames.net as it is running ShockScript since I have a sizeable userbase with some valuable user profiles.
FOGDB.com is sitting idle because of the messy templating with GameScript.
GameScript continues to sound promising; especially since they built in my game sponsorship idea into the script. I won’t have anything to do with it until better templating comes around though. Definitely not holding my breath here!
